In our house, they call it a highchair skirt. My 14 month old loves feeding the dog his food but it gives most things a second chance - he throws it away and if I'm quick enough I can get ahead of the dog and give it to the baby for a while . second try. And that protects the floor from many crumbs (which the dog also cleans up well). I've washed it in the washing machine and dried it flat and it's holding up great.
