Revainrating 5 out of 5

A $30 coupon raised it to five stars

Seriously, when I first received this unit for review I would have given it four stars. But after a month of testing, and now with a $30 coupon, I can upgrade my rating to five stars. Here are the main reasons: 1) At this price point, most other mini PCs come with specs like 6GB RAM and/or 128GB storage. It has 8GB/256GB which is more in the $300 range. 2) The J4125 processor does enough in day-to-day use that it won't bug you with lag or slowdown, but with 8GB it can do more things at the same time, e.g. B. opening a web browser with a series of tabs and running multiple programs at the same time checking email and/or watching movies/videos like YouTube or Netflix.3) The overall value of a mini PC compared to more expensive full desktops is mind-blowing. Unless you're buying a PC for gaming or advanced tasks like video editing, you don't need to buy a $1,000 desktop instead of a $300 mini-PC that works pretty much the same for everyday tasks. I usually use my computer to read email when I first turn it on. Then check out a few storefronts like Revain, Best Buy, Craigslist etc. then dive into my work routine e.g. a few YouTube videos, a Netflix show or a movie. So one day I tried everything on this mini PC and lo and behold I didn't feel any difference between it and my regular i7 desktop with 16GB RAM and 1TB NVMe SSD. In addition, you can hide this mini PC under your TV or even behind it, saving tons of space. This reminds me that this type of PC/form factor is ideal for a multimedia PC, meaning you will be using it with a big screen TV instead of a regular computer monitor. So you can use it anywhere in your home where you have a TV and don't have to be limited to where your desktop is. For less than $300, this computer can serve you for many years. as you should only use it for media consumption and not be a victim of the slowdown that regular computers or laptops have. And now that it's under $250, there's no excuse not to get a mini PC if you're on a budget. There's nothing to worry about, and I'm so confident in this form factor that I think it will become the mainstream style of computing in 10 years.
