First, who doubts - to take a cheap DSLR or an expensive soap dish - do not hesitate. My friend has a PowerShot G9, and my 1000D is a little more expensive, but it’s impossible to compare them - heaven and earth. Secondly, all the advantages of a DSLR are obvious - autofocus is fast, depth of field is small, noise is visible to the eye only at 1600 ISO. Visible, but not critical. :) Many people complain about the plastic case - I don’t see anything wrong with that. The indicated 7 focus points are the only significant drawback compared to the 450D, but I decided that 3 extra thousand would be useful to me, and 1.5 thousand per point - all the same a little expensive :) Life View - by and large an unnecessary marketing chip, it's good that it's free. Sometimes it is useful, but you can and should live without it. I bought it not with a whale lens, but with a 17-85 f / 4-5.6 IS, although I think for many a whale is enough for the first time. I already got a taste - fifty dollars, external flash, tripod. :)
