After reading the reviews before placing an order I found answers to some of the questions mentioned in these reviews. First, how to put the snap ring on the cooling fins, the answer is no. The portion of the lamp in front of the retaining ring is just an adapter to simulate a 9006/9007 lamp, it unscrews to allow the ring to slide onto the end of the lamp. Second, these are the problems that come with Ram trucks. As a Ram owner, I encountered the same issue with the "Lamp Out" message flashing on the dash. I found that these bulbs have two rows of LEDs, one at the top and one at the bottom. When the headlight is on, only the top part of the bulb lights up. That causes problems. The electronics does not see enough amplifier power and switches on the lamp-off message. This is easily fixed by adding resistors to the low beam circuit. The high beam burns out all the LEDs and apparently enough to keep the electronics happy. They are very bright and illuminate the road well. (Hopefully not too bright, time will tell) High beam competes with hidden lights and can blind oncoming vehicles. I definitely recommend these lamps!
