Good but Flaws (Worth Reading)

UPDATE 26/12. Downgraded to 2 stars. On the third use from 3000K to 3100K the color difference is HUGE. Note that the lower the brightness, the more problems changing the color temperature. Sometimes the color does not change even after a few turns of the dial. It may be a defective unit, but he will definitely come back and buy something else. FIRST REVIEW: Pros: price, brightness, color change, diffuser included. Difficult to read LED screen, remote control not included. It does everything that is advertised. At this price you expect cheaper components. There are instructions for the stand but NOT for assembling the light. I have a lot of photo gear so I figured it would be self explanatory not so much. Several small adapters are included with no explanation, and I've put a few together hoping they're correct and safe. BTW, the bolts for my flashlight mount are slightly bent, and the little standoffs that lead to them are threaded. Fastening without screwing onto the thread head. This makes the shaft very wobbly and unsafe. The next knob above the one that controls the ring light's angle looks like there's a plastic corner thread that can wear out if you don't leave it in the same upright position. I've had other cheaper coasters with handles like this one where the plastic would crack when tightened to prevent wobbling, so this design makes me nervous. part of the power supply is simply hanging in the air. This can lead to a load on the power connection to the right of the lamp. I guess they assumed everyone would sit with this light, but the stand would go up to 6ft. The LED display on the back is handy, but I have a lot of issues with bleeding in dark and light areas and at some angles. it's hard to read. Feels boring and interesting, I have a bad screen. The warmer color of the light is strange. I have 3000K bulbs in the studio and 3000K on the set is a lot more yellow but when you take it even to 3100K a strange color cast immediately appears. It's like a light blue/magenta. So I can't make a comparison to my other 3000K lamps. This creates an odd, disappointing color cast. Haven't tried matching it to the neon lights in my other studio yet. I will say that this light can be SUPER bright and requires an included diffuser. It's good. In the end I was hoping it could be a single light/iPhone solution instead of the three point lighting I was doing, but unfortunately it wasn't. Light didn't announce what it would be. I've tried many, many stand positions and light angles and distances around my studio and just couldn't get my hands on Deer in Headlights, a low budget vlogger, if you know what I mean. When I turn on other lights I have a color cast problem, when I turn those lights off it looks like I'm well lit in a dark cave around me. Of course you can lock the device and rotate it to around 75 but then everything just looks baked even if I lower the % or adjust the exposure on my iPhone. There is NO remote control included. Be warned, I've looked at a lot of YouTube reviews showing the remote and that description in fine print tells you the remote isn't included. The same applies to the USB connection. It doesn't claim to have it, but many reviews have shown it. Also note that many of the reviews should have an extra light in their room/studio as this light can't flood your space with soft even light everywhere. I'd say if you're looking for a cheap, decent lighting solution, go for it. If you want it to produce soft, even room lighting, or need consistent color temperature with other light sources, or need a solid build, this may not be for you. It's not a terrible light and it does what it says on the tin, maybe you're just hoping for more like mine. try to find a simple solution. If it doesn't work I will most likely return it.
