Review on MCover Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon X1 Carbon 6G by Brian Nelson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as intended, good but not perfect

I've always wanted a hard case for my X1 Carbon and before that Revain didn't have any such products (except skins). The plastic feels pretty solid, but unlike most MacBook Pro hard cases Revain has, the plastic is smooth plastic, so definitely not the grippiest texture. There's a "stand" mechanism on the bottom that can tilt the laptop, but I don't think it can withstand an accidental bump. Also, for some reason, the stand doesn't have rubber feet, although the other pair does, and the stand has holes for rubber feet (see picture) Due to the design I can no longer open the screen 180 degrees, which isn't a big problem but may be for some. Some clips prevent the laptop from being fully closed; it will close, it will only leave a gap. A bit of rubber padding on the clamp would have been nice (again see photos). After all, it at least fills a gap in the market, albeit a bit pricey. It's not perfect, but at least it works as intended. You may need to remove the mCover sticker. The transparent option is good if you still want the stickers to be visible on your laptop.

  • Good for many
Cons
