Review on Set of 2 Flash Furniture Contemporary Burgundy Vinyl ๐Ÿช‘ Barstools with Adjustable Height, Diamond Pattern Back, and Chrome Base by Brandon Bugg

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality, attractive looks, easy assembly: great deal at $150.

After about a week of use I've had a lot of compliments and no complaints. The stools are beautiful, comfortable and stable. I am very happy with the quality and will definitely buy again. Seat: Matte vinyl, slightly textured and soft; "tufted" is slightly recessed and beautifully embroidered; The design is comfortable enough for a long stay. There is no gassing or "plastic" feeling, and the image correctly captures the burgundy color. My only complaint about the bucket is that it's a bit smaller than I imagined and probably won't fit someone over 200 pounds (14 inch stool with 11 inch back height). Base: The base is solid chrome plated, easy to adjust, and mostly stable (little wobble when fully extended). The seat height is infinitely adjustable from 23 to 31 inches, but when the air tube is fully extended it has about 1.5 inches of play (more like a fun rebound) so the maximum effective height is 29 inches. By the way, I like that the vacant seat is a bit higher because the small backrest looks a bit more prominent. Footrest: As I expected from the drawing, the footrest is a bit high and narrow. It works well with an upright stance for those under 6ft, but isn't ideal. With my 36" counter this isn't a problem as you can reach the floor. If you have a taller bar you can also add grab bars for more convenience. Shipping: The stools were primed, arrived within two days and were packaged in a relatively compact box that could easily be handled by one person (each stool weighs 20 pounds, 40 total) There was a tiny bit of vinyl damage in the corner of one seat, but it was too minor to warrant a return ( unnoticeable unless specifically looked for.) Assembly: The stools come in 4 parts and are very easy to assemble. If you work alone you can assemble them in 10 minutes each, 20 minutes in total. The first step takes the most time Claimed: Use the included Allen key and 4 screws to attach the seat to the footrest, I went around the screws several times to make sure each was dressed evenly and properly. Second: Lower the pedestal into the base. Third: Put the footrest on the base. Surprisingly, gravity and friction do the rest of the work. Customization: The product includes ribbed plastic spacers to hide the seam between the pedestal and the base. I wanted to test one with and one without. I left out the upholstery because it adds a retro feel and seems prone to chipping (it's the only painted part). Well, removing that spacer turned out to be more difficult than I thought because that whole friction-gravity fit was amazingly secure. With some effort I was able to rotate the footrest and pull it out of the base, but I doubt I'll be able to do that again after a week of use (great design testament, but be sure to choose one configuration or the other before use). Overall: This is a great thing. I would have given a fifth star if the seats were a bit bigger and came without any flaws. I am totally impressed with the product but will post an update if there are any issues. Until then, buy as many as you have friends to sit with. 11/25/2015 UPDATE: After 2 years things are still like new. Two thumbs up.
