The Loneliest Sleeper

Let's start with an admission and just get TMI out of the way, shall we? I used to have night wetting as a child. There were reasons - lots of reasons, as almost always happens - but in the end my mother got very, very upset with my frequent change of sheets and put this 1970's mattress pad on the bed, it wasn't a 'pillow'. ” anyway, but a thick, hard, loudly curving and rustling sheet of opaque vinyl. It was like sleeping on Slip N' Slide, but way, way less fun and I didn't want to invite the neighborhood kids over. I'm so glad mattress protection technology has improved to give us this soft, quiet, non-plastic, non-destructive, washable, waterproof lining. I don't wet my bed anymore (Would I tell you if I did? Hmm. Yes, I probably would.) But I have premenopausal night sweats AND a brand new awesome memory foam mattress that I'd rather not water would get into my puddles of liquid estrogen, and I think Mellanni's mattress topper is a reliable barrier. It might make my bed a little warmer due to the composition of the moisture wicking fibers but it's really hard to tell and the most important thing is that my mattress looks and feels brand new and clean. I'm glad I bought this mattress topper and it didn't go bankrupt and gave us all a dry night. :)
