After using regular canvas and canvas plate, canvas plate is not my first choice for acrylic painting. This panel does not absorb or retain color. We need to let it dry and repaint it in the same color. Works after 4 layers of background colors. Every time you clean the same spot more than once. He pulls the paint and shows the canvas. I usually use Michael's brand so I was interested in trying this. To confirm if the panel type is causing the problem or if it is brand specific. I painted 4 panels. 2 tablets by Michael and 2 tablets by Asani. Look at the picture, the pink and yellow background is from Michael Blue and the green is from Asani. for quality. Asani is slightly better than Michael. For the 1st coat, the Asani panel creates a more even background. For a darker color like blue I only need 2 coats. But I apply other colors in 4 coats of paint. Reapply after the previous layer has dried. I made a pencil sketch. But the rough texture makes it difficult to sketch the outlines of my painting. My son made a thicker/harder pencil line and his drawing turned out well. So it doesn't really work for sketching, but it does work for painting. My daughter plays with acrylic paint on some canvases, it gives a watercolor effect. If that's what you're looking for, this panel might be for you. I haven't tried it with oil paint so I can't comment on that. So in short: PROS: Better quality than in the store. Strong and durable, it's not flimsy at all. .It will not deform after I finish my painting. CONS: For acrylic, this doesn't work for me. It's difficult to draw.
