Review on Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera Body (Kit Box) - No Lens Included, International Version with No Warranty by Anastazja Matejczyk

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product did not disappoint, the quality pleases.

The d7000 is more user-friendly than his older sibling, the d3000. However, I opted for the d3000 rather than the d3100 because the former is bulkier and the latter is lighter while providing only a marginal improvement in terms of image quality (-: In sum, Canon and Nikon devotees are yelling about the d3100 and 1000D, respectively, while the d3000 package from Nikon is plainly losing appeal. Just my opinion. Chao

Pros
  • In contrast to its older sibling, the d3000, the LCD screen can be used as a viewfinder. What's more, it's a high-quality video recording. The new matrix consumes significantly less power, but produces noise when subjected to excessive strain (there is a slight difference in ccd and cmos matrices). Those who intend to print photographs at an A2 size or larger will need a camera with a high megapixel count. For me, this technological advancement is unnecessary.
Cons
  • One thing that bothers me is that the ccd and cmos matrices aren't the same. Nonetheless, the ccd matrix is my favorite. And if you're concerned about physical dimensions, the d3000's bigger brother has a little larger matrix and thus superior image quality.
