I bought one for two bathrooms in my new house. Installed as a separately controllable second option with standard shower heads on the walls. The main reason for the two options was to be able to shower if desired without getting your hair wet. Rain shower heads are great, but you'll have to squirm a little awkwardly if you want to keep the rain out of your head. With these rain shower heads, the water flow is great and the showering experience couldn't be better. perhaps that is common to all rain showers. A large square tray fills with water for a few seconds, after which a blissful rain begins. When the water is turned off, the tub remains filled with water. The weight of the remaining water creates a vacuum that keeps the water in the pan. The tilt of the shower head allows air to enter the tub while allowing water to escape. If you don't let go, no big deal. Eventually - sometimes after a few hours, the air will escape and the pan will start to drain on its own. It's just a little startling to hear the sound of a running shower when you think you're the only person in the house!
