This is EXACTLY what I was looking for to make inexpensive necklaces for kids or party favors. The colors are quite light, they are painted more like a stain than an opaque colour. This allows the details of the wood to show through. They aren't that strong and I didn't expect them to last long when used for buttons. I don't expect mine to last more than a week with daily wear like I've been using. The 2 holes on the butterflies weren't the same size, which I didn't care. I had to drill a little more holes to get through the nylon braid. I twisted the blade a few times and voila. The wood is soft so be careful when doing this. I almost broke the first one in half with very little effort. Depending on your project, I believe they were worth every penny. The numbers in the photo are in inches to give you an idea of how big they are. I signed up to place another order for these and couldn't help but leave a review!
