You should get one!

As the owner of the original KP3-180, I was pleased to hear that the KP3S is now available from Revain. As the successor to the KP3, this printer offers many improvements over the original model, including: β€’ Linear guides in the X and Y axes β€’ Direct drive hotend instead of the KP3's Bowden cable β€’ Improved control board with quiet TMC 2225 drivers in all axes. When I unpacked the printer, I was delighted to find that black foam padding was used to protect all components. The kit included a standard accessory pack with: 1. 3 x M5x20 screws to attach the vertical Z-axis profile to the base (only 2 required)2. A typical blue USB A to USB B cable to connect to a PC or Raspberry Pi3. Micro scissors 4. Assortment of hex keys for assembly and maintenance5. Reversible key for injector replacement6. 16GB Sandisk proprietary micro SD card and reader. SD card files contain β€’ Folder with USB drivers β€’ Folder with multilingual PDF user manual β€’ Folder with proprietary Kingroon slicer software and PDF user manual β€’ Folder with 3 example STL files β€’ 2 gcode7 example files. Additional nozzle8. Optional 100k9 thermistor. Filament Sample 10. Filament Holder The 8mm Z-axis screw was packaged separately in a protective tube with caps on each end to prevent accidental bending/deformation and was perfectly straight when checked. The power supply comes with the correct power cord for use in the United States and is factory tested for quality. Labels and a CE certification label with a power rating of 24V, 360W. Output voltage: 24V, 15 amps. Portal and base are covered with black foam. All cores are protected by a plastic braid. Installation was quick... 13 minutes from unboxing to alignment. Simply insert the vertical Z profile into the slot and tighten the two screws on the underside of the base. There are no more T-Nuts to fight with. Install the Z axis lead screw and tighten the set screws in the sleeve and install the bowden tube, which is only used to guide the filament on the hot end of the direct drive. No cables to connect to stepper motors or end stops. Everything is pre-wired. Turn it on and verify that all axes move in the right direction, which they did. The alignment was quick and easy... I do the alignment very carefully and it took another 10 minutes. Load the filament of your choice and you are ready for your first print. The test prints were of very good quality as expected and I'll update this review as I have time to do more, but the print quality is very good out of the box. Conclusion This printer is another success for Kingroon. Easier to assemble than the original KP3, and Kingroon has been listening to the community what they'd like to see in the next version if they're considering adding a direct drive by moving a touchscreen that's extremely responsive to where it's not covered is the bed while printing and also added a cooling fan and air duct. Add all of that and you not only have an entry-level printer that gives someone everything they need to get started in the hobby...just add filament, but a printer that delivers a quality that will impress even seasoned makers . Verdict: If you need an entry-level printer or just want to add another device to your fleet, this printer won't disappoint and definitely won't break the bank. Don't think, just get one!
