I bought this for a dear friend who shares my love of tea. I like cast iron kettles that have a ceramic coating on the inside of the pit to prevent rusting. In addition, ceramic is easy to clean. I just rinse right away without soap. Another design feature I love about this teapot is the combination of the water capacity and the integrated tea infuser that allows you to remove the infuser to prevent the tea from over-brewing. The size of the tea infuser allows you more flexibility in the amount of tea you want to brew compared to using a tea ball or tea ball spoon that you dip in the water. It also allows for repeated brewing of tea leaves. Of all the different designs of teapots I have, this one is my favorite. It's easy to use and clean, and looks beautiful on a shelf or countertop.
