This was a HEAVY box. The packaging was sufficient and the pieces arrived in good condition. The directions were a little unclear until you studied them for a bit (IKEA style with no words). I put it together by myself and it only took a couple of hours (tops). I appreciated the footers that help compensate for any imbalance in the floor.Aesthetics wise, I don't really care for the dark wood look - it's not really black and it's not really ash. I'm not sure why they chose the color. I will probably sand and paint it a consistent black at some point.
