My 2 year old has a larger head than his body at 51.435 cm (20.25 inches). Technically it should have fitted his head, but it didn't. The widest part of my son's head is just above his ears, so his head appears wide at the top. If your child has a "wider" head, this helmet may not fit them. We found an alternative helmet for my son on Amazon. If it was possible to buy a size larger we would have done so. It's such a cute helmet, but we're going to give it to a year-old family friend. He can always grow from it.
