Review on Saniderm Adhesive Antibacterial Bandage 10 - 2 Inches by Stacy Coolidge

Best care product. But respect it.

When used correctly (see pro tips below) this is the best tattoo maintenance product I have found. I wear it for 3-4 days and when I take it off I'm done with the messy/superfine phase. After that, apply a good quality tattoo balm for about a week - NEVER use regular lotion unless you like the feeling of being on fire. My Pro Tips: 1. Apply this immediately after/shortly after tattooing; It's best if someone wears it. If your artist didn't apply it, gently clean (I like h20 foam soap) before applying at home. Save balms/lotions/creams for later. Don't need them now.2. **WHEN REMOVING** DO NOT PULL UP DIRECTLY, or you will hurt yourself. Instead, take a warm/hot shower, allow the edges to soften, then SLOWLY begin exfoliating DIRECTLY ON THE BACK, keeping the 'exfoliating hand' close to the skin. If it's really stuck, run hot water over the edge while you peel it off to loosen the glue. I warn you, if you try to just peel off this stuff, especially when it's being applied, you'll pick up skin with it. 2. Before getting a tattoo, CLOSE more of the edge than usual because this stuff just pulls your hair out. 3. When resizing, leave a margin of at least 2.5 cm. The medical tape keeps it in place if it shifts as you sweat and move. You will need to remove TWO layers of the backing - if it "wrinkles", you still need to remove the layer.6. Three days is usually enough to get through the dirty-awful phase. I wouldn't let it stand any longer. DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor, tattoo artist and do not work for this company. My review reflects my own experience and should NOT be taken as medical advice or any form of guarantee. Your mileage may vary.
