The background is matte on one side and smooth on the other side. The matte side of the sheet I received has a spot on the material that won't peel off, about 3 cm (1.25 inches) long, right in the center of the sheet, about 20 cm (8 inches) from one end away. There is a stain on the shiny side. very long spots almost the entire length of the sheet, right in the middle of the material. It seems to me that the sheet was rolled with a damaged roller. Luckily I don't need the shiny side and can work with the other end to avoid staining the matte side. However, there seems to be a lack of quality control. One thing potential buyers should warn is, taking about 20 minutes to roll out the backdrop and not planning on using it right away. The backdrop was rolled tightly to about 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter. On the long journey from China, he was severely twisted. It took quite a while to get it out of the box and roll it back up and then I used rubber bands to hold it up again to get rid of the curls it needed.
