Normal shoes for my money. I found the water repellency very good. What I don't like are the lace eyelets. They appear to have eyelets to hold the laces in place when pulled. Do these eyelets wear out the laces very quickly (maybe that's why they send two pairs) on these hikers? That issue aside, the shoes certainly fit well (half a size larger) and are comfortable for all terrain. You just have to work on her eyes. ALSO 3 PAIRS OF LACES! BOTTOM PIECE FALLED RIGHT ON THESE TRIPS IN LESS THAN A YEAR! *INADMISSIBLE*
