After transferring about 80GB to the drive, subsequent movies would not play, effectively limiting the usable size to less than 20% of capacity. Previously copied movies played normally. At one point the slider that pushed the FireWire connection worked, but the USB connection hung. There was no visible damage and I didn't push the slider on the USB side when deciding to return the goods. By the way, the same problem as with another large capacity (1TB) flash drive, but in this case I managed to talk to technical support and they agreed that one of them was defective. I haven't had a chance to speak to tech support about this.
