Update: The company contacted me with some information about the shirts. Obviously, black is colored differently than other colors. They sent me a list of shirts that looked black, I'm sticking with it but the other color the company says should look like this. Not my thing but I think some people like it. 5 stars for one black, 2 stars for the other. I ordered a few of these as it's hard to find mid-rise shirts anywhere. I like black, it's a very nice soft thick cotton, but the peppery and bright colors are a much heavier cotton that looks and feels a lot cheaper. It's very faded after a single wash. I would buy black again but the other colors I've bought seem significantly cheaper and of poorer quality. I'm not sure if there is a quality control issue or if the black is made of a different material.
