Four stars but... The case is a replica of the Pelican case, a well-folded plastic flight case for protection of your choice. However, there are some notable departures from the Pelican body. (1) First, and I think this is a big issue, the case is not upright. The case is designed to lie flat, but when placed vertically (with the handle up) it's slanted and not stable. The problem is that, unlike the Pelican, the hinges touch the ground, and the body sits on it unevenly. There is no additional support to keep the body upright. (2) The foam in the lid is not glued to the top of the case. Slight irritation when opening the case - foam rubber falls out. (3) When I received the case, the foam smelled very strongly of organic solvents (acetone?). After leaving the box open for a day, the smell was almost gone. (4) The latches have a slightly different locking method compared to the Pelican. They're not that solidly built. (5) The lock holes are not reinforced with metal. In this case there are holes for locks, but they are just holes in the plastic. Those exceptions aside, this case is a good replacement for the Pelican at a fraction of the cost. The case probably won't perform like a roughly handled Pelican on multiple trips, but I suspect it will be good for protection during storage. Overall it's good value for money, perfect for storage or traveling light.
