As our winters become more ice than snow due to climate change, I've tried several iterations of traction on ice over the past few years. They are easy to put on and if you buy with a strap they stay secure. Spikes perfectly stick to any slippery surface and make walking easier. The spikes and rubber also seem to hold up better than most others I've tried. A word of caution: if you walk on ice on fresh snow, be aware that you will eventually become covered with snow and the spikes cannot dig into the ice. I learned it the hard way. Just remember to shake off stuck snow from time to time or to be extra careful when walking. No big deal as that would apply to any such device. I ordered a second pair to have on hand if the spikes wear out over time. If you live in a frigid climate and walk a lot, they are a must, especially for older people like me.
