My young library visitors find it difficult to navigate the shelves. I've added these arrows and labeled them (e.g. Nonfiction 550; Fiction A to B; Walk Around; Walk Down the Aisle) so they move in the right direction. In addition, they can be removed easily and without leaving any residue. (They're called "floor" signs, but I stick them right on the bookshelves. MUCH better than tape!) And with a pack of 200, I can make changes without worrying about running out. Such a simple, inexpensive, and versatile solution to a longstanding problem!
