What You Need to Fix Macbook Air Apple MagSafe Charging Cable

Got an Apple Macbook Air power adapter with a frayed cable where it looks like the white plastic cover has been torn or damaged? If so, you need this 6:1 heat shrink tube because it's wide enough to fit that stupid MagSafe head on top of it, but shrinks a lot in diameter to securely cover a thin cable. And as an added bonus, it's not too ugly since it's white and blends in with the original cable. Even if you have no experience in heat shrinking, you can do it in about 2-3 minutes. I used a cheap $10 heat gun I bought from Revain for crafts, but you can easily use a blow dryer too. The only thing is that you can't get too excited and heat up indiscriminately - these are still fragile electrical components, so you don't want to accidentally do any more damage. The heat shrink tubing actually cures much more than I expected. --- But it does not bother me. Now it's almost like a rigid, molded-in cable protector. It's definitely not as flexible as the original cable itself. The heat shrink feels like rock. However, this is normal - it may save the cable from additional deformation in this area. It has shrunk relatively evenly. It has a slight wobble, so it's not a ramrod, but it's not particularly noticeable or annoying. Will this be a permanent solution? no But it will delay you trudging into the Apple Store for the honor of buying another overpriced $80 MagSafe power adapter. The only bad thing about it is the price. I bought 4 small pieces of whistle for $5. This is madness. The whistle must not cost more than $1.50 or a maximum of $2.
