We replaced an 8 year old home computer with this Optiplex. I really like that it is very small, quiet and easy to use. We use it for general home use, 98% on Chrome (banking, email, calendar, homework, maps, browsing, light photo editing, scanning/printing, etc). We already had a high-quality 27-inch Dell display with built-in speakers, microphone and webcam, so I connect it with an HDMI cable (which carries video and audio) and a USB cable (USB provides a connection for the camera, microphone and the display also has a built-in USB hub). which is useful for keyboard and mouse). This Optiplex came with a Dell wired keyboard and mouse which I actually prefer (wired = no batteries, no charging) and they work very well. I added 8GB of RAM to bring the total storage to 16GB, but I don't think it was really necessary as the computer ran fine without it. I think having 16GB might come in handy if we keep this machine for 8+ years like us. the last one, and it was pretty cheap to make.
