I have returned the item. There is nothing technically wrong with this leg. Didn't fit my machine. Many quilters prefer vintage ones as they are easier to maintain and are often workhorses. Thread foot quilting is relatively new to home quilters, however. Therefore, finding a leg for a classic car can be difficult. The needle should go through the middle of this foot. On my old Kenmore it almost hits the leading edge. That gives me about 1/8 inch in the forefoot, 1/4 inch on each side and about 1/2 in the back. This is normal for straight quilting, but not when the presser foot changes position as it moves around the quilting rod. If you have a newer machine this should work. If your machine is from the early 1960's or older, it will not work. As for the height of the foot, everything is fine. He sits exactly where he needs to sit.
