I need a replacement for my old iPod and I definitely don't need an iPod Touch with all the bells and whistles so I decided to give the Arungo MP3 player a try. Big mistake. This is the worst junk I've spent money on in years - junk software and junk builds. I certainly wouldn't buy it if I could test it first. From the start, half the mp3s I downloaded to the SD card gave a "format error" message when I tried to play them on the player, even though none were from iTunes - all lower bitrate mp3s. Now, after several business trips and a two-hour drive to work, every song, every press of the play button causes a "format error" message - nothing plays. I thought the charge might be discharged but no, the same thing happens after charging. My computer doesn't recognize it either. When I plug it in, the player charges, but now I can't access the SD card. The menu structure is the most illogical software I've ever come across - very frustrating. You'll have to refer to the manual to learn the tricks needed to get to where you want to go in the menu (then you'll have to try to remember them). It's almost impossible to find and play the song you want. booted from the SD card in the player menu. I tried, but junk software got in the way. You have to press the play button and scroll forward until you find something you want to hear. There are no playlists here - you have to put all the songs in one file. The random mode always starts with the same song and definitely plays favorites - it only picks songs from a few bands. I'll send it back the next time I go into town (silently).
