Open Source Tool That Works Perfectly Well Versus Other Data Warehousing Tools

I love that it's open source and free. The product has been around for years so there are many features already built in. You can find a lot of tutorials online if you need help getting started with something specific. There isn't much out of the box support for other languages than Java (although they do have an SDK). For our team of developers we've been using this software since 2015/2016 when I was working as a QA tester at another startup called Vindicia. At the time, we had a large project where we were trying to create some sort of database to store all of the marketing campaigns that each client ran. We wanted to be able to view these reports easily without having to go through multiple different databases to see what information we needed.

Pros
  • It is very easy to use once your understand how everything works but not too complicated or overwhelming either which makes sense because its mostly made by Oracle employees who make SQL work every day! They really put effort into making sure their program runs smooth no matter whatever platform gets thrown across it :) Easy way to get data from any given DB whether it comes directly via JDBC connection string OR remotely over TCP protocol just like sqlplus does :D One thing about kog
Cons
  • Good but not great
