Bought to brighten the look of an old dark drum kit. Watch a tutorial video showing how to use it to cover a black shelf with ragged edges. Was impressed with the end result in the video because it was completely covered and the surface looked great and very shiny. I received my order and my first impression of the roll product was that it was not shiny. shown in the photos. However, I started to cover one of the smaller drums. I stopped after about an inch or so and didn't even bother removing the rest of the paper backing - you can see what it would look like in the attached photo. abominable. I've used vinyl wrap for cars in the past: it's real vinyl that's opaque and will stretch and harden when heated. I assumed it would be the same as they recommend for architectural, indoor or outdoor use. I can't think of an architectural application where this would be a suitable solution. I dismissed one of the other reviews here that said it looked like clear tape with a seal on it. I should have been careful. This description is pretty accurate. It is completely transparent. Additionally, the material itself has very little stretch and is too thin to withstand the heat-activated applications they recommend. Literally like clear packing tape. I bet they get a lot of returns because of that. But if you don't cover a pristine, smooth white surface, you won't get the look they advertise.
