This is a cute little touchless bin best suited for the bathroom, bedroom or small private office. The instructions say batteries are included, but as correctly stated in the product description, batteries are not included. However, the instructions led me to think that batteries should be included. You need three AA batteries to operate this trash can. The motion detector works very reliably. When you wave your hand over the trash can, it opens for you and closes again after a few seconds. In the product description it says that the lid of the trash can opens when you step on it. This works, but is not very reliable. Even if I kicked the can fairly hard, it didn't always come open. If you want to open the lid by kicking the jar, you have to put it close to the wall and kick the wall. If it's not against the wall, tip the tank over because it's so small. The set includes a small starter roll of bin bags, but these are the thinnest bags I've seen. Even thinner than shopping bags. Didn't know garbage bags could be so flimsy. So they will work, but I think they will break if you put a hard object in them or even if you put a lot of weight on them. I would recommend doubling up on the bags, or even better just buying better bags. I'm a fan of contactless bins and have a few at home. It works just as well as any of them. So I would definitely recommend this product if the small size suits your needs. *Thank you for taking the time to read my HONEST review.
