Good quality fabric/thick not flimsy which is a plus! - shirt length is short - my 7 year old (just turned around) is on the small side and we have to try to tuck this shirt in - it doesn't look good unless tucked in because it's short (looks dry from the dryer). I definitely don't think an 8 year old would fit in here unless he's very small. I would order one size larger. The shirt isn't bad in general, but I was totally let down by the length. The width is also small.
