These are plastic clips that stacked but can't be locked in place. Stacking them in threes will make them unstable. There's nothing holding a vertical stack to the right or left of another. When inserting or removing bottles, be careful not to knock them over. The brackets will fit standard 750ml wine bottles, but not many custom bottles that are either taller or wider, or liter or larger bottles.They will fit some spirit and soda bottles, but there's no reason to overestimate them to store their side (most modern wine bottles don't need to be stored on their side for that matter) I don't see much point in it and the price seems high for plastic clips.
