Review on πŸ”Š DIY Audio Cards: EZSound Module – High Quality 120-Second Recording, Easy to Use by Scott Spoja

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A small drawback is the difficulty when changing the battery

The card comes with 3 batteries installed - two can be easily swapped out if required, but the third is blocked by a switch on one side and speaker wire on the other. Therefore, it is obviously not intended for continuous use. Overall, the device performs surprisingly well and is well suited for the purpose. The speaker is better than most commercial "music cards" I've come across, and the entire mechanism is no more than 1/4 inch high. So very happy with the ergonomics. With no packaging, I had a problem with the recording function - I was only able to record a few seconds, not the advertised 120 seconds. However, there is also a notice on the packaging advising you to remove and reinsert one of the batteries if your module is not playing. So I tried that (changed the battery closest to the record button) and now the device works great and exactly as advertised. Changing one of the batteries is a good idea! You can't get pristine hi-fi quality given the size of the speaker. Out of curiosity, I tried a larger speaker (same impedance and power) and got a significantly better sound. For my purposes, however, the built-in speaker works perfectly. Audio fidelity was also good given the speaker's limitations. However, I have found that you need a strong audio source to get good playback volume. The switch is a breaker between two contacts on the circuit board (a spring metal contact). So, to turn off the device, insert an isolator (like the plastic spacer that came with it) and to play, just remove the spacer. Read the instructions! They are easy to use and accurate. In general I am satisfied with this device that I use for decoration. I would definitely buy again.

Pros
  • The sound module can be recorded from videos, sound files (any format), voice recordings, phone messages, etc.
Cons
  • Not everything fits
