Review on FalconEyes RX-18TD Waterproof 100W Bi-Color 📸 Dimmable Flexible Studio Light for Photography (RX-18TD) by Brian Olson

I highly recommend the RX-18TD. Two-tone wonderful and sensible edition. They definitely have the amount of light you need for a T-stop, ranging from 4-8 at ISO 200-800 with 1m illumination. Keep in mind that there are several boxed models available. Some with a flat rectangular pocket, others with a long stylized pocket (similar to a tripod bag). In addition, some models come with accessories (diffuser/lantern) while others do not. I recommend diffusion versions. Also, some have an X-mount that folds in half so it's smaller for storage, while others have an X-mount that folds just at the intersection for longer storage. I think they're both great, you just have to know. As for color, there are a couple of interesting observations. As with many LEDs (even more expensive ones), the color temperature on the controller is not an accurate representation of the light's color output. You need to experiment and make reference notes. For example, my block set to 5600 actually outputs 5400. If it's set at 5550, it jumps to 4900. These are numbers with the scatter disabled. This is a noticeable drop in color temperature once the balanced tungsten LEDs are turned on (on the 5550). As for hue, the light at 5600 is very clean, but once you get more warmth the magenta hue becomes evident. At around 5200 and below you should probably add 1/8 plus green gel if you are concerned about correcting the tint. Honestly, given the cost of the light, I think that's pretty reasonable. I see the same trend in professional lights. In summary, this is a great light source and is best used as a key or fill light at close range. It is ultra light, can be mounted on a lightweight tripod and can also be used with minimal equipment. I'm very picky and my kit will most likely use this as padding if a more trusted professional key source is provided. Either way, this is a great buy and can get the job done easily. I would recommend two RX-18TDs instead of one RX-24TD due to the greater flexibility. Happy shooting!
