Review on ๐ŸŒฟ Intensive Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Day Cream - Rich Facial Skin Care to Promote Firmness and Strengthen Skin Structure, 1.3 Fl Oz by Jessica Bohannon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall very disappointed with it for MANY reasons.

I have a friend who is crazy about Dr. Hauschka, and I've tried it myself a few times. I've always been impressed with the brand and products I've known, so I guess I had expectations associated with that. Just to clarify, I work with 50 year old skin that I have basically ignored and/or abused for most of my life. Well, I have sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, and I'm pale and redheaded, so I always have to deal with blushes. One of the things I REALLY liked about this cream is how it reduced the redness on my cheeks and chest. But that's about the only thing I like about it. If you look at the ingredients listed, the third ingredient is alcohol. Eh, no. Not on my skin and not what I would have expected from a skincare brand that places so much emphasis on organic ingredients and essential oils. Also not in this price range. The next problem was the smell. I'm used to organic products and their "earthy" smell. I'm also used to products that only use essential oils for fragrance and no added fragrances or fragrances. This product was something completely different. I'm not sure if it's just a bad combination of essential oils or something went wrong with the chemistry of this product, but it's not good. It's something I've never felt before, a kind of chemical oil-based rancidity. Not sure, but it was bad. I could only use the product twice. Both times I washed it off because of the smell. But I've noticed that the redness has gone down. I hope it was just a bad batch hence the 3 stars. I can't imagine this is something they put there on purpose.
