I've been trying to find a relaxing art or craft to entertain my fiance for two years and finally gave him a mini paint set one night when I am there could not endure his squirming any longer. I agree with his assessment that it's rare for an 8 year old to be able to do this without getting frustrated, but if you don't have an artistic background or have difficulty with soft crafts (knitting etc) this could be the perfect hobby start doing something artistic.
