This is my third Musette bag. I got my first one when I was 17 and lasted about 20 years. If I had taken better care of her, I would have lasted much longer. I tossed it in the washing machine, used hot water and tumble dried it. Since I do this once a year, normal wear and tear took its toll and I had to replace it. The second was great but I got the idea to protect it from water. The method I used wasn't very good (liquid gum? Why?!). So that led me to the #3 Musette bag - this is the best of them all. It has wide shoulder straps and two side pockets. I applied Otter Wax Protector, sewed onto a strong leather base, added rivets to make it more compact if needed (as well as to double as leg rivets), and sewed a handle to the top flap. The MG patch was on the other two pockets.
