Comparison with Panasonic Arc 5

I have been using a Braun Series 9 shaver since December 2016. Around the same time I bought a Panasonic Arc 5 ES-LV95-s shaver. One was free; It's a long story as to how it happened, but I kept both. I've used each of them for a while, switching back and forth every few months just for the sake of variety and comparison. In the end, I chose brown forever. PROXIMITY: I'd say it's a tie. I've read reviews from people claiming that the Panasonic Arc 5 shaves a little more closely. I didn't have that, although of course it's possible, even probable, for other people, since faces and skin are different. Both razors gave me the same closeness. I shaved with a blade many years ago, and then I shaved with an electric razor for many years. I think it's safe to say that in my opinion there is no electric shaver that shaves as close as a blade, but both the Braun Series 9 and Panasonic Arc 5 come very close, definitely close enough for all intents and purposes purposes. All I know is that my skin is smooth when I've finished my brown shave. COMFORT: Here I give Braun the decisive advantage. The Braun is smooth and glides across my face, while the Panasonic seems to pull a little, even snagging and pinching at times. That's the main reason why I chose Braun forever. Here I should note that I do NOT wash my face before shaving brown; Guides and online tips even recommend shaving BEFORE washing. I've found that if I shave with a brown after a shower, the smoothness of the skin diminishes. Using a foam or gel may help; I use neither one nor the other. CLEANING: Both shavers come with a cleaner/charger. Insert razor, press button. However, I prefer brown in this category. For a Panasonic machine, pour the contents of a small sachet of liquid detergent into the cleaning tank, add water and insert the tank into the cleaner/charger. The Braun machine uses a cleaning fluid cartridge that is inserted into the cleaner/charger. For me it is much more convenient. Sure, cartridges can be more expensive, but I find the cartridge's simplicity justifies the extra cost. However, I can't fault the cheaper price and easy storage of the packages for the Panasonic. At Braun I clean the whiskers off the razor and blades and rinse the blades with water before I put the razor away. in the cleanup block, but I don't find it necessary. I won't go into technical differences as they don't matter as far as I know. I don't care which razor blades have more cycles per minute; This leads to the intimacy and comfort I discussed above. COMMENTS: I don't shave every day. In fact, I usually shave every 3 days. By this time, the mustache is long and abundant. If I shaved every day maybe it would make a difference in terms of closeness and comfort. I have always found that with an electric razor I shave smoother after 2 or 3 days with any razor than after 1 day. I do not use foam, gel or lotion/liquid before shaving. although this Braun model is gel or foam compatible. Not sure about the lotion/liquid. I wouldn't recommend pre-shave lotion. I used it years ago and to my knowledge it's way too greasy/oily. I had to wash my hands after applying it to my face and before shaving just because the razor's body didn't get dirty. Aftershave is a must for me. Over the years I have used Braun, Panasonic and Norelco shavers. Brown is my last choice.
