Works with Ubuntu 20.04 with problems

This worked mostly with a Ubuntu 20.04 laptop but had some problems. There was a lot of really bad screen tearing when scrolling in dual monitor mode. The refresh rate could not be maintained very well. To make matters worse, opening a chat window in Zoom had a 50/50 chance of the system going into the weird blocking mode. The mouse could move, but the video froze. Windows couldn't move, couldn't close anything, couldn't go to the terminal window to type anything. However, Zoom audio and video continued to work. until the system completely crashes and restarts a few minutes later. Instead, I switched to a new DisplayLink (WavLink) device and no longer had these issues. I liked how compact it was and I wanted to like it. Strange issues meant it was interfering with my work. It also got pretty darn hot (it was on my outdoor table, maybe they didn't design the thermals well enough and thermally throttled the chips).

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
