This is my second pair that I use and abuse. I needed a backup in case my first pair fell out three years ago. Some background. My first pair of a previous generation broke down on the road after a few years of hard work. I was expecting a common failure to be a single channel failure due to a cable connection at a stress point where the cabling would normally twitch. In fact, there was a bug in the device selector switch (iPhone / non-iPhone) which resulted in unstable operation. I did some operations and fixed this problem since I don't have to select. This NEW version has fixed this vulnerability and selects the device type automatically. Bravo! I've also noticed that the new drivers seem to have more advanced highs, but they haven't been fully tested yet. In general, I like the sound of this model very much and don't get tired even after many hours of listening. The type of wire is good as it is tangle resistant and seems very strong to withstand a great physical exertion without excessive wind noise. This is a common weakness of many "buds". If there's one area that needs improvement, it's the control switch (for the volume). It works well but requires too much physical handling for it to work as intended. Working in the dark, with your thumbs up or when you're in a hurry - it's just difficult to flip the switch and get what you want. Electrically everything is fine, physically this is the biggest weak point compared to the performance of everything else. In the end, great sound and durability wins everyone.
