I wanted a truly waterproof hat for swimming and watersports, where the brim would not fall off when wet. This one is great for that purpose. Adjustments don't necessarily ensure a perfect fit, but they do help with smaller head sizes. My biggest complaints are that one of my hats is a lighter, less navy blue one for some reason (never washed or left in the sun, same as the other used) and they are EXPENSIVE. This is one of the few reliably waterproof hats, but I'm still not sure if it's worth nearly $30 for a hat.
