These lanterns are fantastic. I went back and forth deciding which kit to order, which required batteries or a system of puck lights that plugged into an outlet. Ultimately, I settled on the ones that run on 3 AAA batteries. Maybe later I'll get rechargeable batteries. I was researching the best kitchen lighting and decided I needed soft white light. The light they give off is perfect. I'm not sure how much I'll need in the kitchen so I decided to use 3M tape before finishing the included screws. I installed them all in under 10 minutes. This is one of my best purchases in a long time and probably one of my favorite DIY projects. It's so simple and at the same time such a dramatic result. I love her! The board is fantastic. When setting up, remember that the puck lights must be within range of the remote signal. I put one under the cupboard above my fridge (not that we needed light there, but I still had extra light and I thought the effect would be good), but it was too high and out of reach for the remote control. I love the timer (you can set it for 10, 30, 60 or 120 minutes) and the ability to dim the light manually or with four presets (10%, 40%, 80%, 100%). I also really like that I can just reach out and click on a light source. When it's time to change the batteries, simply pull the flashlight out of the holder. The back cover can be removed to reveal the battery compartment. Just change the batteries and turn it back on. Very easy. I can only recommend this lighting system. I'm going to buy another cabin set to take with me when we go camping this summer. Two remote controls are very useful, we can use three lights in each cabin space.
