A Fun Assortment For Your Toddler

This is a fun assortment of painted wooden instruments for your budding musician. It includes a handy, clear plastic carrying case. Watch my video to see me sample each instrument. While the stacking rings are not a traditional musical instrument, when the rings hit each other, they do make a "clacking” noise. You can also tap the wooden base with the xylophone mallet, triangle striker, or maracas to produce sound. Some things I noticed:• The yellow ring on the stacking toy doesn’t move easily on the base.• The xylophone, while going up in pitch, is not tuned to a major scale, so children won't be able to play a song by ear.• There's only one castanet (as advertised in the product description), though they are usually played as a pair. For $15.99 (the price at the time of this review) it’s still fun and educational for young children.(Note: If toddlers put a bell in their mouth, the edges can cut their lips or tongue.)

Pros
  • Safe and Reliable
Cons
  • Limited range of sounds - While the LOOIKOOS Baby Musical Toys may be great for introducing young children to music, the range of sounds they can produce is quite limited. This may become boring for the child after some time
