I didn't use it because it's a gift but I opened it on arrival (ordered a boy and girl face for my best friend's two kids). They are simple but awesome. The photos of the boy and girl differ slightly from each other, but not much (the girl has slightly different eyebrows, wrinkled lips and more eyelashes). The quality seems excellent, a real record. I think this is a great idea to give to kids on their special day or just as a treat. I'm sure my girlfriend and her husband will be playing with their food on these plates too! The packaging says they are dishwasher safe, but I can't comment on that as I'm giving them away. Came well packaged, firmly in the box. I think the $10 price is great for a fun gift that encourages creativity!
