I really appreciate the fit of these gloves. Too many times gloves are made "one size fits all" and they are so large you struggle to use them. These gloves do not have that problem. They fit a normal man's hand just right. I grill out a lot and in the past have tried the usual oven mitts. The problem there is that they are so large you really feel like you are using towels to grab stuff. I was looking for something that I could grab my place setter in my smokers etc. These are perfect for this use. I tested the gloves out this morning on a waffle maker by placing my hand in the maker and shutting the top down. It worked like a charm. I felt a little heat come through but nothing hot. I then used them to remove the hot grates on my indoor stove to clean around the burners. They were hot as I had been cooking breakfast all morning. The gloves performed very well. Again, I really appreciate the fit as it just makes it better to work with. The fingers aren't 8 inches long to accommodate every man, the palms are not 7 inches across like a catcher's mitt. The gloves fit like a glove.
