Before I explain my 3 star rating, I want to say that I am a person who is able to do mostly basic car maintenance. For example, I change my own oil and have replaced headlight housings, batteries, and repaired the mechanism that moves my power windows up and down. So, I feel that I am normally able to do a basic repair or replacement such as headlight bulbs with little or no problem if I follow the directions.However, these LED bulbs have been frustrating for me so far and I have not been able to get them installed in such a way that results in a clear beam with a noticeable difference when high beams are engaged. I believe this is for two reasons. One is that the printed instructions contradict the video instructions. The former says to orient the LED in a 3:00-9:00 way (which I'll call vertical) but the video says to orient them in a 12:00-6:00 (which I'll call horizontal). I got them installed oriented horizontally, per the video, and the results on a dark evening are in my first two photos. The second problem is that the 360° lock ring feature means that, unlike the usual halogen bulbs I use, there are multiple angles at which the LED bulbs may be installed, so it is both challenging to get them installed at the correct orientation and I am worried that they will move around when I am on the road.My third phot is a comparison showing the halogen pattern, which is clearly focused on a specific spot on my garage door. I haven't been able to get that same focus with the LED bulbs. yet. I am not giving up, though, because the LED bulbs are so much brighter that it will be worth figuring it out, at which point I will update this review.
