To start, I didn't need 4 of these, but for the price I purchased anyway, the extras made nice gifts.They are soft satin-like on the outside and vinyl lined. They do a nice job keeping my hair dry in the shower and the satin-like fabric covers the elastic so while it doesn't have a very tight fit, it is comfortable and does the job. I squeeze it in a towel after use to take out some water and hang it to dry. Seems to dry pretty quickly, but I also have good air flow in my bath. No odd smells and have used every other day since purchased and not having any smell or mold issues. I'll toss it in the wash with towels but only dry it on low so as not to ruin the elastic.As other reviewers have said, THEY RUN SMALL!If you have a lot of hair or larger than 'average' head, do not get these, you will not be happy. I have long, fine, thinner hair and I think average size head and these just fit.
