Review on ViewSonic 3DV5 Pocket 3D HD Camcorder featuring 5M FF Lens (No Longer Manufactured) by Daniel Morris

ViewSonic 3D camcorder is better than Aiptek

As I already own an Aiptek HD 3D camcorder I decided to compare it to this ViewSonic HD 3D camcorder as it is currently priced at US$94 dollars is on offer. .Both physically look the same, except the ViewSonic's 2 lenses are protected by a frame around the lenses. Features are the same for both camcorders and both include Nvidia 3D software for compatibility. This is a very important feature because you can view 3D on laptops that have Nvidia 3D installed with a real 3D view. Both camcorders have HDMI for direct viewing on a 3D TV. The playback screen on the ViewSonic camcorder is displayed. slightly darker than on Aiptek, but the recorded video is smoother. The Aiptek appears more jerky when panning the recording of both cameras, which may have something to do with the frame rate of 30 fps, although both cameras have the same characteristics. Given the choice, I would buy this ViewSonic, but keep in mind that both should be seen as a cheap, inexpensive way to take photos and videos in 3D and in no way compare to the Fuji W 3 or Panasonic in terms of quality. / High-end consumer models from Sony.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Some minor issues
