Review on ๐Ÿพ Staart Esker Wooden Pet Steps - Stylish and Functional Accessory for Your Furry Friend by Jennifer Mounce

Good idea, very poor execution, overpriced

If I had known I was paying so much for inferior quality to Ikea I would not have bought these steps. - All other reviews are correct, stairs are very slippery and not wide enough for every dog. My dog decided that with the help of the crate came the ladder as the step was more convenient than this ladder. The suggestion that we should buy tread tape is ridiculous as 1) we don't need to buy another product and 2) it destroys the whole reason why this product is worth buying over cheaper ones - aesthetics. THE SAME LENGTH. One is at least half an inch shorter which means the steps wobble a lot. - The quality is generally poor. The paint is blotchy (lots of places you can see the wood through) and the details don't come together well. It comes with the same screws and dowels that you use to hold the panels together like IKEA furniture, but the holes weren't properly sized so you can't tighten all the dowels to hold the pieces together. - This can also loosen the joint caps and fall out. Another review mentioned that the pieces were small and they were worried their dog might try to eat one. THIS HAPPENS TO MY PUPPY RIGHT AFTER assembling the steps. One of the pegs, which I could never get tight enough, seemed to fall out of the bottom of the stairs and I found him chewing on it! It was very spicy and if he swallowed it he could choke. The only reason to take steps is to avoid injury. I decided to remove any loose caps until I could get them back. Now I have to figure out how to disassemble it and ship it back which means I spent a good 45 minutes assembling it, 45 minutes disassembling it to put it back together and take it to UPS and my dog is almost at one smothers the pieces.

Pros
  • Stairs and steps
Cons
  • So far so good
